This guide covers Odessa TX events, plus Midland and Goldsmith, from Friday, October 23 through Sunday, November 15, 2026. The last Halloween events fall in the next eight days, early voting for the November 3 election runs through October 30, and the Odessa Jackalopes play nine home games in this stretch. Midland holds its Veterans Parade on November 7. Every item links to the city, county, school district, venue or organizer page, so check it before you head out in case plans change.

Goldsmith RV Park & Housing is about 25 minutes from Odessa and about 45 minutes from Midland, so most of these events work as an evening out or a day trip. If you are new to the area and still sorting out where to stay for a longer job, our guide to long-term RV parks near Odessa covers what to check before you sign. Events from earlier in October are in our October 18 guide.

The last week of Halloween events

Families have three busy days to plan around. On Friday, October 23, Midland police and the city parks department host Halloweenfest at Hogan Park from 6 to 8 PM, with games and candy. On Saturday morning, October 24, the Midland Fire Department opens the Central Fire Station for Truck or Treat, and that afternoon Grace Christian in Odessa holds a Trunk-or-Treat with hayrides and a touch-a-truck area. Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and Odessa's city events are the day before, on Friday, October 30. Odessa Fire Rescue hosts a Truck-or-Treat in the morning and the Odessa Police Department hosts a Trunk-or-Treat from 4 to 6 PM, which leaves time to get there after an early shift. For grown-ups, the West Texas Symphony plays a Halloween concert at the Wagner Noel on October 24, and costumes are welcome.

    Jackalopes hockey at the Coliseum

The Odessa Jackalopes have nine home games at the Ector County Coliseum between October 23 and November 15. Thursday and Friday games start at 7:15 PM, Saturday games at 6 PM and Sunday games at 2 PM. If you work a rotating schedule, that spread makes it easier to find a game on one of your days off. The Sunday afternoon games against Shreveport on October 25 and Corpus Christi on November 15 suit families with younger kids, and the Saturday, October 31 game puts hockey on Halloween night. Every date is in the list below.

Midland's Veterans Parade and Veterans Day

Saturday, November 7 is the City of Midland's second annual Veterans Parade and Veterans Celebration. A flyover at 1 PM starts the parade, which runs until 3 PM on "A" Street between Elk Street and Illinois Avenue. From 4 to 7 PM the celebration moves to Centennial Park, with a Kids Zone, food trucks and a Veteran Resource Village. Fireworks open the evening, and the Eli Young Band plays at 7 PM. Plan on about 45 minutes each way from Goldsmith to Midland, and get there early if you want a spot along the parade route. Veterans Day follows on Wednesday, November 11.
